Everyone has some moment in life where they are at their very best. This could be the time that they helped a younger sibling out or just getting an “A” on their chemistry final. My time of being my very best would have to be when I won the Iowa State Fair hog show.
Some people think that showing hogs just consists of walking a pig around in a ring for a judge to look at, well they are very wrong. My time of being my best isn’t the half of an hour that I spent in the show ring but it was the three months of preparation that I had to put in to my pig to get him the best of his ability. This preparation consisted of training my pig to show by walking him around in the front yard for a half hour every night, washing and brushing him, and feeding him a balanced diet. While I was going through this experienced I felt like it was a lot of hard work that I was doing for nothing, but when it came time for the state fair, it paid off with me accomplishing something I thought I would never do.
This experience of me being my best showed me that with a lot of hard work anything can be accomplished. This ties into my first college semester because I thought that I could just slide by and get an “A” in every class, but reality hit me pretty hard and I learned that I was going to have to work for it and let my hard work pay for its self in accomplishments.
